Chinese Herbs in pills or powder

Medicinal Herbology is an important component of Chinese Medicine, a comprehensive health care system used in for thousands of years in China and now throughout the world. Chinese herbology’s effectiveness can be attributed to centuries of experimentation, refinement of formulation and documentation by the ancient physicians.  As a result, a broad range of symptoms can be effectively treated with Chinese herbs available in pill or powder. I have extensively researched the best and most effective herbal products available and carry a very large selection (over 120) of herbals that can safely and effectively treat a wide range of symptoms.  Also, I can customize an herbal blend (formula). These herbs are only available from a Licensed Acupuncturist.

Compare Chinese Herbs to those sold in “Health Stores”.
The "herbs" purchased at your local Health Store consist of one herb aiming to treat one symptom, for instance Insomnia. Chinese herbology uses a specific combination of herbs (called formula) to create a synergistic powerful effect.  In Chinese Medicine, we treat the root cause of the problem(s) and NOT just the symptom. In the case of a patient suffering from Insomnia, an herb from the health store will treat only the symptom (lack of sleep) where Chinese Herbs will be prescribed to treat the underlying root of a person’s sleeplessness. Based on a patient’s complaints & symptoms, I will formulate a custom treatment plan to address the major complaint and/or root problem(s). The treatment plan can include one or multiple therapies: Acupuncture/Laser, Herbal, and/or ElectroMagnetic, and/or Injection, etc

Can one herbal formula treat multiple symptoms ?
Yes, for example, when treating a common cold (cough, fever, body ache, etc) one herbal formula (in tablet form) can effectively treat all these symptoms.

How quickly do the herbs work?
For the very first time you take herbs, it can take effect between 1-36 hrs . In more complicated medical cases, it may take more than 4 days. But once the herbs are in your system, and have brought the desire effects, it will continue to do so for as long you take the herb.

What are the benefits of Chinese herbs?
Some properties of Chinese herbs are:

  • Vitamins (nourish the body: Qi, blood, Yin & Yang)

  • Anti-inflammatory / Pain killers

  • Remove excesses (detoxify, fever, food stagnation, etc)

  • Anti-Bacterial / Anti-viral

  • Calming (nourish the brain)

For details of symptoms treated see Home page

How safe are the herbs?
The use of Chinese herbs is very safe and they are FDA approved. For thousands of years, Chinese herbal medicine has been practiced, tested and improved.  Herbal guidelines have been established for centuries.  Since Chinese herbs are all natural they can be taken along with your prescribed medications. A Licensed Acupuncturist is required to undergo hundreds of hours to learn Chinese & Western herbals.  Note, there are individuals holding certificates from Herbal seminars that are actually practicing herbology. So be aware and do not be afraid to ask questions.

What if I am currently under a physician care (MD) ?
The Chinese Herbs are complementary to western medicine. If you are under a Medical Doctor’s (MD) care, you should continue for as long as your MD deems it necessary, and continue to take all prescribed medication.
